From Our President

On behalf of the Triangle Chapter of USA Dance, I wish you a wonderful beginning to 2010!

I hope this finds you well rested, refreshed and rejuvenated to get started with all that 2010 has to offer through the Triangle Chapter. We are really happy that you take the time to read our newsletters and participate in activities through our chapter. Our chapter has a long and proud tradition of supporting its members and the community and it is my goal to continue this through my term as President.

It is an honor for me to be elected the Triangle Chapter's President for the upcoming year. I look forward to continuing the efforts made in the past and building on those to create an even more wonderful organization for ballroom dancing in the Triangle. The goal for this year is to increase awareness of our group in the community and to strengthen our presence through increased membership.

It is my hope that the Triangle Chapter will sponsor and participate in many local events this year and I would like to invite you to participate!

Thank you and Happy Dancing!

CJ Barnes, President

USA Dance - Triangle Chapter

First Night Raleigh

Once again, USA Dance had a great presence at First Night Raleigh.

Some of the volunteers who helped out were: CJ Barnes, Bob Menteer, Michael Taylor, Curtis Bass, Evan Harms, Sid Harrell, Philomena Harrell, Margaret Seaman, Barry Harding, Tess Sharpe, Andrea Carlson, Janet Carlson, Gary Carlson, Andy Carlson, Laura Carlson, Mark Brown, Nancey Vincent and John Vincent.

Sound set up was done by CJ Barnes, Bob Menteer, Michael Taylor and Andy Carlson. Andy Carlson worked most of the night as our DJ calling out what the dances were. CJ, Bob and Michael were his backup for this.

Margaret Seaman and Barry Harding brought some wonderful sweets to give the group the sugar rush to keep us going. We want to thank all of the hard working men who helped move the equipment to and from the dance. For those who wanted to help but could not make it, there is always next year.

Thank you

Tess
